Information on Open Transfers and District Capacity
January 1, 2026
We appreciate your interest in Chickasha Public Schools and have compiled the following helpful information for you. This information is for those requesting an Open Transfer into our District, it does not apply to those currently living in CPS borders.
- Applications for the 25-26 School Year will open on June 1, 2025. Transfers for 2025-2026 school year will not be approved or denied until after July 1, 2025. Spots will be filled in the order they are received. Application may now be made ONLINE. Access the application here.
- Beginning now, new transfers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be dated and time-stamped when received.
- To accept a transfer, enrollment in the grade the parent requests must be under the district-established capacity. This information can be found at the bottom of this page.
- Transfers may be denied based on capacity, attendance and discipline issues.
- Transfers for siblings will be considered separately.
- If the grade requested is over capacity, the District will offer you the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list.
- Transfer students must abide by eligibility requirements established by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) for OSSAA-sanctioned activities.
- Transportation is NOT provided for Open Transfer Students.
- Transfer preference is given to children of active-duty military personnel.
- Transfer denials may be appealed by contacting the District at 405-222-6500.
